Bowst is looking for a front-end developer ready to join a team of passionate engineers working on cool projects and hit the ground running. We expect you to be totally comfortable turning static designs into dynamic experiences, using frameworks like React and platforms like WordPress, Drupal, and Shopify. We make new projects, but we also stand behind what we’ve built, which means writing clean code the next person can easily understand. It means being able to work with a team, knowing how to communicate at the speed of agency, and switching gears when things get busy — because around here, that’s always.
Responsibilities
- Turn mockups and user stories into full-featured cross-platform websites
- Creating custom Themes for WordPress, Drupal, React
- Shopify theme customization
- Write clean code and documentation that’s easy for others to follow
- Keep up with project schedules and provide regular status updates to the rest of the team
- Working with the UX/UI, and design team to improve process and efficiency
Qualifications
- Writes HTML, CSS, and JS like second-nature
- Love of clean code that performs well
- Desire to learn new technologies
- Experience working with Shopify, WordPress, WooCommerce, and Drupal
- Good understanding of SEO principles
- Not intimidated using the command line to run build scripts
- Understanding of modern tools and technologies and an interest in learning more
- Totally comfortable with Git and concepts like commits and branches, either through a GUI or command line
- Experience working with third-party APIs
